“President Trump claimed that his actions were “totally appropriate.”…[That] is of course, untrue. [They were] dangerous, destructive, dishonorable and un-American.

President Trump’s lack of remorse and refusal to take accountability after the attack poses its own unique and continuing danger. It sends a message that is acceptable to incite a violent insurrection, to overthrow the will of their people, and that a president of the United States can do that and get away with it.

That is why we have to hold President Trump accountable— to send a message that is never patriotic to incite a violent attack against our nation’s capital, and that future presidents will know that they cannot follow in Donald Trump’s footsteps and get away with it.”
