Faked Out News

TrumpWorld maintains its illusion of power and significance in large part because of an acquiescent press.

A) “Former President Donald Trump called late Thursday for the “immediate” release of the federal warrant the FBI used to search his Florida estate, hours after the Justice Department had asked a court to unseal the warrant, with Attorney General Merrick Garland citing the ‘substantial public interest in this matter….’”

B) [H]ours after the Justice Department had asked a court to unseal the warrant, with Attorney General Merrick Garland citing the “substantial public interest in this matter,” [f]sormer President Donald Trump called late Thursday for the “immediate” release of the federal warrant the FBI used to search his Florida estate.

The AP version continues:

“…In messages posted on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote, “Not only will I not oppose the release of documents … I am going a step further by ENCOURAGING the immediate release of those documents.” He continued to assail the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago as “unAmerican, unwarranted and unnecessary.”

“Release the documents now!” he wrote.

1. After months of pussyfooting, the Feds busted into his joint and took back our stuff. Period. No ENCOURAGEMENT required.

2. UnAmerican? The 4th Amendment prohibits only unreasonable searches and seizures. He already coughed up a dozen boxes he shouldn’t have had in the first place. Given his heavily documented history of lying, a reasonable person could infer that he continues to do what he’s always done, as likely supported by the underlying affidavit.

3. Unwarranted? Wrong in both senses of the word.

4. Unnecessary? See above.

Since no one reads Truth Social except journalists and wackos who attempt to kill FBI agents and state police [“someone with an account bearing Mr. Shiffer’s name posted messages on Mr. Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, recommending that “patriots” go to Florida and kill federal agents.” Man Accused of Trying to Break Into F.B.I. Office Is Killed in Standoff – The New York Times], the effect of sloppy journalism is to give Trump a platform he otherwise would not have had.
